If The correct college (Queens College) is not listed when you click on the eSIMS link, go to your Portal Profile option on the bottom of the left side panel. Select Modify Profile. Select Queens College from your Primary Affiliation list. Save the modified Profile and go back to the eSIMS link.

eSIMS is CUNY's Student Information Management System. With it you can change your personal information, pre-register & register, withdraw from courses, change your PIN, view financial aid applied to your bill, file a Pass/No Credit option, or rescind the option, pay your current bill, review your grades, change/review your program, and much more.

What is the CPE?

The CUNY Proficiency Exam (CPE) is a three-hour, two-part test designed to assess students’ command of analytical reading and writing, and data analysis and integration. Students are expected to develop these skills during their first two years of coursework, as these skills are considered necessary for successful completion of upper-level classes.

As of the Fall 2003 semester, all degree-seeking students must pass the CPE by their 60th attempted credit. To be eligible students must be in good academic standing, i.e., hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Students transferring with 45 credits (or more) from non-CUNY institutions must take the CPE during their first semester at Queens.

The CPE is offered during the fall and spring semesters, in October and March, respectively. Students must register to take the exam upon receiving notification from the Testing Center. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of one of the three allotted attempts to pass the exam successfully.
